People are fed up with unresponsive, gridlocked government dominated by powerful special interests.

Bold grassroots leaders across the country are rising up to solve the source of the problem: our dysfunctional election system. Ranked Choice Voting (RCV) is a simple fix to these problems.

Ranked choice voting better reflects the will of the voters by enabling each voter to rank the candidates by preference.

How it Works

With RCV, Instead of picking just one candidate, you can rank as many as you like on your ballot, in order of preference 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th...

Ballots are counted in "instant runoff rounds" where contestants receiving the fewest top-choices are eliminated and their supporters' ballots are then counted toward the next choice indicated on each. Watch this video for a quick walk-through.

Ranked Choice Voting makes it possible for more candidates to run without worrying about "spoiling the election". It makes it possible for voters to vote for their preferred candidate without fear of "throwing their vote away" or feeling the need to choose the "lesser of two evils".

You can always vote for the candidate you are enthusiastic about without fear of wasting your vote -- you have backup choices if your favorite can't win. Your top choice is never harmed by ranking additional choices.

By enabling a wider field of candidates, RCV makes elections more competitive. And, because politicians are worried about winning people's second and third choices, they are forced to care about a broader constituency. This means more choices and more accountability.
